“Cancelled” Comedian Martin Urbano Takes the Stage at Edinburgh Fringe

Known for being ousted due to political incorrectness and potential undisclosed transgressions, Martin Urbano is set to make his debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with “Apology Comeback Tour.” In the midst of the backlash-to-the-backlash era, Martin delivers a humorous perspective on wokeness, cancel culture, and a world where it seems like “you can’t say anything anymore.”

With previous appearances on US TV shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Tonight Show, we caught up with Martin to discuss cancel culture, social media, and his return to comedy.

Your show is titled the Apology Comeback Tour, but it’s also your debut. Can you explain that?

I observed some comedians successfully staging apology comeback shows with large audiences and critical acclaim, and I thought, why not give it a shot? Plus, facing accusations from multiple women, I am now returning to my true passion: stand-up comedy.

What’s your response to someone who finds your jokes offensive?

I’d dedicate an entire hour on stage to complaining about it.

You’ve interacted with both, but in a hypothetical fight, who would emerge victorious: Jimmy Kimmel or Jimmy Fallon?

In the interest of my career, I have to give a diplomatic answer: they would both lose. However, a more intriguing match-up would be between their frequent collaborators, Adam Carolla and Horatio Sanz.

Is there anyone you believe should be cancelled, and why?

I don’t endorse the idea of canceling anyone because the consequences of cancel culture can be perilous. Just consider what it did to Jeffrey Epstein, may he rest in peace. That being said, I do think members of the Woke Mob should face severe consequences.

Where can people learn more about you? Are you active on social media, or have you been banned from all platforms?
